I'm personally not a fan of reality TV shows post 'The Real World: New York - Season One' (Julie & Eric anyone?!) since the trash (cast & content) that gets aired is simply inane. It's been a while since I've actually loved a TV show and one that I can recommend and actually re-play over and over.
So world meet Glee, a show based on the not-really-required dorky high school after school extra-curricular activity (or is it a club?) that's not as boring as choir but almost like musical theater except that the kids can't act so, they stuck to singing and dancing their pretty uglies out to modern tunes cabaret style. It's a little more than just singing and dancing on TV of course, it's a dramedy with Broadway stars like Kristen Chenoweth in one wicked episode; I really hope they bring her back for more. And of course there's Matthew Morrison, but I'd rather get down with Mark Salling who plays the mowhawked bad-boy, Puck (no, not anywhere near like the dirty peanut butter eating Puck of The Real World: San Francisco fame). And for the boys, there's Lea Michele if you like to be dominated or Dianna Agron who's not at all annoying.
If this is news to you, you need to catch up with the re-caps on Gawker and at least the five last episodes on Hulu before it plays again tonight at 8pm. Or you know, you can work backwards. Thank me in song and a choreographed dance when I see you next or we'll just remain acquaintances.
